Cheesy Jalapeno Stuffed Bread Rolls
Makes: 11 bread rolls
Prep time: 35 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
1 ½ cups milk, lukewarm
¼ cup vegetable or olive oil
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp dry active yeast
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 packet Posh Poppa’s Cheesy Jalapeno Poppers
1 jalapeno, thinly sliced (optional)
2 tsp fresh or dried thyme
30g butter, melted
Method
- Preheat your oven to 200°C and grease a large skillet or baking tray
- Combine the milk, oil, sugar and yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer. Leave to sit for 5 minutes for the yeast to start to bubble.
- Add the flour, egg and salt and mix on medium speed with a dough hook for 10 minutes until a sticky dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and divide into 11 pieces. Roll each piece into a smooth ball and flatten into a circle. Sit a Cheesy Jalapeno Popper on each piece and wrap the dough around the popper, pinching the edges together to enclose the popper.
- Place the dough balls in the greased skillet or baking tray and cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for 15 minutes.
- Press a slice of jalapeno into the top of each one if using, brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with thyme.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Leave to cool for a few minutes and enjoy warm.
